Local sign company acquires new ownership
Eugene, OR, June 15, 2012: SignCraft, a 37 year old company in Eugene, Oregon has a new owner and location. Local businessman and native Eugene resident, Mark Brooks, has acquired one of Eugene’s longest running sign manufacturing companies. The business was recently relocated from downtown Eugene to Hwy 99 near the Eugene Airport. After four decades in the sign industry, Larry Chamberlain (previous owner), has decided to slow down and pursue his passion of the arts. With new input and capital for expansion, SignCraft is well positioned to provide continued custom design and manufacturing services in the mid-Willamette valley.
“We have plans to expand our offerings and our employee base as well.” Said Mark Brooks. SignCraft has a very long history in providing custom bronze and aluminum cast products, being the only local supplier in Lane County. “SignCraft has always been known for its quality bronze plaques and memorials and we intend to continue that tradition” says Mark. As well as plaques, SignCraft is an established provider of commercial and architectural signage in the Eugene area.
The purchase of SignCraft is not only timely for Mr. Chamberlain, but also for Lane County. With unemployment up and environmental concerns dominating Oregon as well as the Nation, it’s critical for small businesses to thrive and take a leading role in the revitalization of our economy and environment. “We are looking at utilizing new products that are green friendly in our design and manufacturing. With lead and mercury free castings and molded letters made of cellulose, we have an opportunity to provide better products that have less impact on the earth.” says Brooks.
Mr. Chamberlain will remain with the company as a consultant.
